TheTravelrod
website is my personal record of the wildlife I have encountered on a number of
visits to different parts of the world. I have always wanted to photograph
wildlife and it is only in recent years that I have had the time and money to
indulge in this passion. I hope to build the contents of the site as I revisit
favourite places and enjoy new venues. My intention is to share my enthusiasm
with anyone who happens to visit this site and hopefully provide encouragement
to those people who are not aficionados but would like to know more about the
wildlife which the traveler can enjoy.
The majority of photographs on this site are taken
with a Canon EOS 10D and a Sigma 50 – 500mm zoom. Although my primary
interest is in watching and photographing birds there have been plenty
of opportunities to record butterflies, reptiles, mammals and other
wildlife.
